Kuching - It is the Personifi- Catification of Kuching, a city in East Malaysia. The city was called Kuching because there's a river which flows through it that originated from Bukit Mata Kuching (Cat's Eye Hill). Kuching means cat, thus it's nicknamed as the Cat City. ISN'T HE ADORABLE?! XD
Kuching fell into the hands of James Brooke somewhere in September 1841 because he helped settled a dispute with the Sultan of Brunei.
Well, not really but some historians, especially those who used the poems and the stories at that time states that the dispute (small scale rebellion) at that time was instigated by the Brooke himself... and well get to become governer of the troubled region after his 'help'.
Well this is not neccessarily right because from my understanding of history there is not really black and white but shades of gray from this...
Somehow or rather, Brunei is depicted as a corruptive and opressive while its people are wanting to be saved...a bit too one sided and highly inaccurate, but at least the perceived intention to "wipe off that small ****** off the map" (actual words from Charles Brooke) to save its people and bring modernity...erm...its hard?
